EV Charger Guide

Choosing the right charger keeps your EV ready to go. Here's what to know about connectors, speeds and home installation in Sri Lanka.

1. Know your connector

Most EVs in Sri Lanka use Type 2 (AC) and CCS or CHAdeMO (DC fast charging). Check your vehicle's port before buying a charger.

2. Pick the right speed

Home charging is usually 3–7 kW (overnight). Fast public chargers are 50 kW+. Match the charger to your daily driving and electrical supply.

3. Home installation

A wallbox needs proper wiring and may need a dedicated circuit. Use our charger-installation request to get quotes from verified installers.

4. Find public chargers

Use the EV Charging Map to find public stations near you, with connector types, pricing and availability.

5. Solar charging

Pair your EV with solar to charge from the sun. Our EV + Solar calculator estimates the system you'd need.
