How this is calculated
- EV cost = (distance ÷ 100) × kWh/100km × effective charging rate.
- Petrol cost = (distance ÷ km per litre) × petrol price.
- The effective charging rate blends your home tariff with public DC fast-charging based on the charging location (Home, Public or Mixed). Public charging is assumed at Rs 90/kWh.
- With solar enabled, the home-charged portion of energy is treated as free, lowering the effective rate.
- Annual figures are monthly × 12; 5-year figures are monthly × 60.
- Break-even = EV price premium ÷ annual savings — it only appears when you enter a premium and the EV is cheaper to run.
- Savings cover fuel/energy only — they exclude maintenance, insurance and depreciation.
