How this is calculated
- Energy drawn from the source for a full charge = usable battery ÷ charger efficiency. A 90% charger loses ~10% to heat and cabling.
- Solar usage offsets that share of the energy as free, so only the grid portion is billed.
- Cost per km = cost per full charge ÷ real-world range.
- A session adds your charging percentage of the battery; the monthly cost is that session × charges per month.
- Home vs public compares the same sessions at your home tariff against typical public DC fast charging, with solar set aside.
